Philippa
Pip Bryan is an award winning flautist and vocalist performing and working with communities across the country. She is a passionate teacher delivering whole class instrumental programmes, individual lessons and workshops for a variety of organisations including Royal College of Music, Tri Borough Music Hub, Royal Albert Hall, Live Music Now and School's Library Service. Philippa is a graduate of the Royal College of Music where she was awarded a BMus (Hons) degree and previously studied at Chetham's School of Music from the age of 10. Pip regularly performs solo recitals as well as with a variety of ensembles and bands including Tir Eolas, Christian Forshaw & The Sanctuary Ensemble and Rise Trio at venues including Shakespeare's Globe, Royal Albert Hall, BBC Radio 3, Bestival and Ronnie Scott's.
Michael
Michael Bryan is a composer, saxophonist, clarinettist and peripatetic teacher residing in Liverpool. After attending Chetham's School of Music from 2003 to 2008 where he studied clarinet and saxophone, he enrolled at Trinity College of Music where he completed his degree in Jazz Saxophone and Composition in 2012. Throughout his career, Michael has performed as a soloist, in orchestras, in large and small ensembles and in his own projects across the UK. Mike has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with musicians such as Stan Sultzman, Mike Walker and Sir John Dankworth at venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Bridgewater Hall and the Belfast Arena. As a composer, Michael has written works for various performers and ensembles and has had premieres of his work performed in the British Film Institute, the Royal College of Music and the Royal Northern College of Music. Michael has taught across the country providing both whole class and individual tuition. Michael is a Duncan Norman Scholar and is completing his PhD in the use of collaborative music composition for people living with dementia.
Hedi
Hedi Pinkerfeld performs with Rise Trio, Rise Music Education’s ensemble, working with charities across the northwest to deliver interactive concerts in the community. Hedi is a guitar and bass player, composer and bandleader. Since graduating from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama he has gone on to lead his own group Olivia’s Owls, whose debut album was released in 2015 on the London based F-IRE label. He continues to work with a variety of other groups including Tir Eolas, with whom he recorded an album produced by BBC Album of the Year award winner Jim Moray. Hedi has performed extensively across the UK and in Europe in venues including the Royal Albert Hall, King’s Place, Sage Gateshead, Shakespeare’s Globe, Milton Court Concert Hall, The Vortex and Langnau Jazz Festival. He is also deeply involved with Live Music Now and other organisations which enable people from disadvantaged backgrounds, refugees, SEN children and people living with dementia to benefit from music.
